A request for annulment to void a marriage may be made if the marriage was the result of an incestuous relationship, or one or both of the parties have not had their prior known marriage(s) terminated. (Bigamy)
A request for annulment may also be made on the grounds of the petitioner’s age at the time of marriage, a prior existing marriage, unsound mind of the other party, fraud, force or physical incapacity of the other party.
The California Family Code defines with greater particularity all of the preceding.
